The 2018 Irish Whiskey Awards

Now accepting entries for the 2018 Irish Whiskey Awards!

Entries are now being accepted for this year's Irish Whiskey Awards — which are now in their sixth year — at the Slane Distillery in Co. Meath on Thursday 18th October.

The closing date for all entries is Monday 30th July.

The categories for this year are as follows:

Irish Single Malt Whiskey (12 Years & Younger)
Irish Single Malt Whiskey (13 Years & Older)
Irish Blended Whiskey (RRP of less than €60)
Irish Blended Whiskey (RRP of €60 or more)
Irish Single Cask Whiskey

Irish Whiskey Bar of the Year (Leinster)
Irish Whiskey Bar of the Year (Munster)
Irish Whiskey Bar of the Year (Connaught)
Irish Whiskey Bar of the Year (Ulster)
Irish Whiskey Bar of the Year (International)

The bar with the most votes will become Irish Whiskey Bar of the Year.

Irish Poitín
Irish Liqueur
Irish Gin
Irish Vodka
Irish Whiskey Barrel Aged Beer

Judging of the Awards will take place in August and September by members of the Celtic Whiskey Club, Irish Whiskey Society & Cork Whiskey Society. We are also hoping to include the Kilkenny Whiskey Guild and Galway Whiskey Trail. Overseas members of the Celtic Whiskey Club will also have the chance to purchase sample packs and vote without having to travel to Ireland. Members of the trade will be responsible for judging the white spirit categories (Gin, Vodka & Poitín) as well as barrel-aged beers and liqueurs, which will take place in a separate tasting session.

Last year's awards saw the Teeling Revival IV win the prestigious award for Irish Whiskey of the Year, whilst Garavan's in Galway won Irish Whiskey Bar of the Year.

As always, we will be working with our charity partner Mary's Meals and all proceeds from the awards night will go towards helping feed children in impoverished areas of the world.
